Close-out evidence, what was done, which parts were consumed, which readings were taken, is often typed up later from memory or a paper card. The result is an asset history thinner than a reliability review or a safety audit needs it to be.

What the FLOW does

Open the work order.

A new work order in the CMMS or a due preventive-maintenance interval starts the FLOW; Connect pulls the asset history, criticality, maintenance plan, and live schedule from the systems that hold them.

Resolve the safety gate.

Business Context resolves the hazards, the permit-to-work, and the isolation, or lockout-tagout, sequence for the specific job, and the permits are drafted before anyone heads to the floor.

Check parts, skills, and window.

A Digital Task Agent validates technician certification against the job, confirms the parts are in the crib or on order, and aligns the access window with the production run — mapping each shortfall to the requirement it misses.

Dispatch, or route the blocker.

Cleared work is scheduled to the certified technician. A blocker — an uncertified technician, a back-ordered part, a line conflict — goes to the maintenance planner in the Enterprise Workplace with the constraint already attached.

Close out and update the ledger.

Connect writes the consumed parts, the readings, and the sign-offs back to the CMMS and the asset log, so the next work order evaluates against live stock rather than a stale count.
